Performance of Reflective Film on the Light Environment of Chinese Solar Greenhouse

open access: yesAgronomy
To enhance the utilization of solar energy in Chinese solar greenhouses (CSGs), a new method for optimizing the internal lighting environment of CSGs using reflective films is proposed.

JPSS-3 / 4 VIIRS response versus scan angle characterization and performance

open access: yesFrontiers in Remote Sensing, 2023
Scientific studies of the Earth’s climate increasingly rely on high-quality satellite observations. The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) is a key sensor onboard a series of satellites [Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (SNPP) and

Solar radio-frequency reflectivity and localization of FRB from solar reflection

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2022
ABSTRACT The radiation of a fast radio burst (FRB) reflects from the Moon and Sun. If a reflection is detected, the time interval between the direct and reflected signals constrains the source to a narrow arc on the sky. If both Lunar and Solar reflections are detected these two arcs intersect, narrowly confining the location on the sky.

Materials to Mitigate the Urban Heat Island Effect for Cool Pavement: A Brief Review

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
The urban heat island (UHI) effect has a significantly negative impact on the living environment in urban areas. Asphalt pavement is one of the most widely used infrastructures that absorbs solar energy, which leads to the UHI effect and premature ...

Revolutionary integrated cool roofing technologies system for attic temperature reduction in buildings

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2023
The cooling load is the most prominent building energy consumption. The roof's poor thermal resistance effect causes buildings in the tropical climate to receive high solar heat that afterwards transfer to the attic before entering the living space ...

Influence of Reflective Surface Type on Solar Energy Concentration Efficiency for Concave Solar Dishes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Soil Sciences and Agricultural Engineering, 2019
Solar energy considered the most important renewable energies; one of the most important applications of solar energy is concentrating solar radiation by concave solar dishes to give thermal energy, which used in many purposes such as warming, heating ...

Simulation and Experimental Evaluation of a Refractive-Reflective Static Solar Concentrator

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Static solar devices have advantages over solar tracking systems. In pure reflective systems, solar reception is limited by the entry angle of the reflector. Many reflective systems are based on mirror Compound Parabolic Concentrators.

Protection to thermal impact of solar radiation: evaluation of selected reflective fabrics

open access: yesCommunications in Development and Assembling of Textile Products, 2021
Prolonged exposure to solar radiation can cause considerable heat stress. The application of reflective materials in garments or sunscreens is generally considered as an appropriate protective strategy.
