Interplay between Structure and Conduction Mechanism of Piperazinium‐Functionalized Poly[Ethylene Pyrrole/Ethylene Ketone/Propylene Ketone] Anion Conducting Membranes

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
A new anion exchange membrane based on random piperaziniumethyl N‐substituted poly[ethylene pyrrole/ethylene ketone/propylene ketone] (P‐FPKK), with a conductivity of 11.3 mS cm−1 at 60 °C in hydroxyl form, is developed. This material is very promising to overcome the issue of anionic membranes as potential alternatives to proton exchange membranes in ...

A Green Process for Effective Direct Recycling and Reuse of Graphite from End‐of‐Life Li‐Ion Batteries Black Mass

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
A sustainable closed‐loop approach for reclamation and reuse of graphite from end‐of‐life (EoL) lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) black mass is proposed. Low‐impact froth flotation with green chemicals, followed by mild chemical purification and thermal treatment, is exploited. High‐quality graphite is obtained.

Containerless emulsification of acoustically levitated composite drop

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
Emulsions are inherently thermodynamically unstable dispersions that are widely involved in food processing, cosmetic preparation, and drug delivery. The existing ultrasonic emulsification techniques mainly rely on the direct contact between the sonicator probe and liquids, which caused localized high temperature and pressure within the liquid and ...

Squamate ventricular cardiomyocytes: Ploidy, proliferation, and heart muscle cell size in the leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius)

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background While heart function is broadly conserved across vertebrates, the cellular phenotype of muscle cells (cardiomyocytes) varies across taxa and throughout ontogeny. Emerging evidence suggests that some attributes may correlate with the capacity for spontaneous cardiomyocyte replacement following injury.
