The Impact of Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome Burden on Pain, Neuropathy Severity and Fiber Type
ABSTRACT Objective Determine the association between diabetes and metabolic syndrome (MetS) burden (number of MetS criteria fulfilled) and pain, neuropathy severity, and fiber type involvement in individuals with established polyneuropathy. Methods The Peripheral Neuropathy Research Registry was queried for individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes ...

Reflex inhibition and reflex strength [PDF]
In Experiment 1, the amplitude of the acoustic startle reflex in rats was shown to increase linearly with increases in the intensity of the eliciting stimulus (Se). A preliminary stimulus (Si), a light flash, inhibited the reflex. The amplitude of the reflex was reduced by an equal amount regardless of Se intensity.

Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing of High‐Nitrogen Alloyed FeCr(Si)N Stainless Steel
The alloying element Nitrogen enhances stainless steel strength, corrosion resistance, and stabilizes austenite. This study develops austenitic FeCr(Si)N steel production via powder metallurgy. Fe20Cr and Si3N4 are hot isostatically pressed, creating an austenitic microstructure.

Bioresorbable and Wireless Rechargeable Implanted Na‐ion Battery for Temporary Medical Devices
An all‐solid‐state bioresorbable Na‐ion battery is developed, composed entirely of bio‐eliminable materials. In vivo and ex vivo tests confirmed harmless disintegration of this implanted battery. Lifetime of the implanted battery can be precisely controlled by adjusting the dissolvable encapsulation layer's thickness.
