Children who Stutter Exchange Linguistic Accuracy for Processing Speed in Sentence Comprehension [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Comprehension of predicates and reflexives was examined in children who stutter (CWS) and children who do not stutter (CWNS) who were between 7;9 and 10;2 years.

Biologically‐Inspired Melt Electrowriting for the Generation of Highly Biomimetic Functional Myocardium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.

Reflexives and reciprocals in LTAG [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper presents an LTAG analysis of reflexives like himself and reciprocals like each other. These items need to find a c-commanding antecedent from which they retrieve (part of) their own denotation and with which they syntactically agree.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Activa, mitjana i passiva: la morfosintaxi de la veu [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper is concerned with the variation found with respect to how languages morphologically mark argument structure (AS) alternations, a variation that I take to be related to the realization of the syntactic Voice head.

The Syntax of Spatial Anaphora

open access: yesNordlyd: Tromsø University Working Papers on Language & Linguistics, 2007
In this paper, we provide a comprehensive Minimalist analysis of the apparent free variation between pronouns and anaphors in snake-sentences. Three sets of data provide the basis for the analysis: hitherto unobserved restrictions on quantifier-pronoun ...

Chasing Charge Carriers: Diffusion Dynamics in Mixed‐n Quasi‐2D Colloidal MAPbBr3 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal halide perovskites are noted for their tunable optical properties. Colloidal synthesis allows the formation of differently shaped perovskite nanocrystals with varying optical and carrier transport behavior. Three MAPbBr3 morphologies are characterized: nanoplatelets, nanosheets, and nanostripes.

Binding Principles A and B in Albanian Child Language [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Cross-linguistic studies have reported that children’s interpretation of reflexives and pronouns varies at great length. According to the Binding Theory (Chomsky, 1981) reflexives are c-commanded by the noun phrases to which they are locally bound, while

Antecedent-based approach to binding in Icelandic and Faroese

open access: yesNordlyd: Tromsø University Working Papers on Language & Linguistics, 2011
This paper examines the standard approach to long-distance reflexives within the Lexical-Functional Grammar framework. This approach defines the binding relation between a reflexive and its non-local antecedent by prescribing the type of syntactic ...
