NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

SYNTHESIS OF FAUJASITE WITH HIGH THERMAL STABILITY FROM FLY ASH

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2010
Faujasite was hydrothermally synthesized from fly ash at 100oC in alkaline solution by reflux with various concentration of HCl and fusion with NaOH (weight ratio of NaOH/fly ash = 1.2) pretreatments.

Extending Batch Extractive Distillation Thermodynamic Feasibility Insights to Continuous for Class 1.0-2 Case A [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The feasibility of batch and continuous extractive distillation analysis for the separation azeotropic mixtures is addressed. Based on batch feasibility knowledge, batch and continuous separation feasibility is studied under reflux ratio and entrainer ...

Measurement-based Run-to-run Optimization of a Batch Reaction-distillation System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Measurement-based optimization schemes have been developed to deal with uncertainty and process variations. One of the methods therein, labeled NCO tracking, relies on appropriate parameterization of the input profiles and adjusts the corresponding input

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

The contribution of quality aspects to process control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Process operators often have difficulties with quality supervision and control for the following reasons: (i) analytical results are infrequent and much delayed, (ii) conventional automatic control cannot sufficiently reduce quality deviations, and (iii)

Biodegradable and Recyclable Luminescent Mixed‐Matrix‐Membranes, Hydrogels, and Cryogels based on Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks and Biopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

May–Thurner syndrome: Correlation between digital subtraction and computed tomography venography

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2015
Digital subtraction venography (DSV) and computed tomography venography (CTV) are both recommended for diagnosing May–Thurner syndrome. The literature contains little information on the correlation between these imaging tools.

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of
