Prediction of the Operating Conditions in a Batch Distillation Column Using a Shortcut Method [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2002
A shortcut procedure as quick, easy-to use method for design and simulation of multicomponent batch distillation is used to predict the operating condition of recovering xylene from solvent in an existing batch distillation column in benzol refinery. The

Charge Transport in Ternary Charge‐Transfer Solid Solution Single Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study deconvolutes the roles of indirect (superexchange) and direct electronic coupling on charge transport in single crystals of an organic charge‐transfer molecular semiconductor (OSC). This model system elegantly demonstrates that structural defects introduced by chemical dopants play a significant role in the electronic performance ...

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

GRAPHICAL CALCULATION METHOD FOR MINIMUM REFLUX RATIO IN AZEOTROPIC DISTILLATION

open access: yesJOURNAL OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING OF JAPAN, 1972
In an azeotropic distillation column, the rate of net flow and the composition of net flow for both stripping and rectifying sections can be calculated from the limiting conditions of the separation desired. The pinch points are dotted on the radial lines starting from the point of net flow composition by trial and error, and locus of the pinch points ...

Use of approximate methods to determine minimum reflux ratio in distillation process [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
The study of multicomponent distillation process require the solution of system of equations developed after mass balance, equilibrium, enthalpy balance, molar fraction analysis were classic methods developed after Lewis-Matheson and Thiele-Geddes studies used in conventional column studies .

Obstetric and long-term kidney outcomes in renal transplant recipients: a 40 year single-centre study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Female renal transplant recipients of childbearing age may ask what the outcomes are for pregnancy and whether pregnancy will affect graft function. We analyzed obstetric and transplant outcomes among renal transplant recipients in our center who have ...

Dual‐Ligand Metal‐Organic Frameworks via In Situ Amidoxime Engineering for Selective Ion Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by microbial ion‐trapping mechanisms, a mild and universal strategy is developed to construct highly porous amidoxime‐functionalized MOFs. DFT calculations and molecular force measurements reveal that the dual‐ligand amidoxime configuration significantly strengthens Ga(III) affinity.

Sustainable Catalyst‐Free PLG Networks: Recyclability, Biodegradability, and Functional Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A catalyst‐additive free covalent adaptable network is developed from star‐shaped poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) cross‐linked with pyromellitic dianhydride, enabling internal carboxylic acid‐driven transesterification. The resulting biodegradable network exhibits mechanical robustness (Young's modulus ≈1.6 GPa), complete recyclability, rapid biodegradation

Design of Batch Distillation Columns Using Short-Cut Method at Constant Reflux

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2013
A short-cut method for batch distillation columns working at constant reflux was applied to solve a problem of four components that needed to be separated and purified to a mole fraction of 0.97 or better. Distillation columns with 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50
