Detection of Filariid Infections in Mexican Primate Populations Through qPCR
American Journal of Primatology, Volume 86, Issue 12, December 2024.Using a combination of noninvasive sampling and molecular diagnostic techniques, we detected filariae infections in wild spider monkeys and black howler monkeys across southern Mexico by screen for filariid DNA in host feces through qPCR protocols, with an overall prevalence of 26% positive cases.
