Operando Visualization of Cathode Water Management in Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzers Using Synchrotron X‐Ray Radiography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cathode of proton exchange membrane water electrolyzers remains a poorly understood region despite its importance for hydrogen purity and operational safety. Operando synchrotron X‐ray radiography directly visualizes liquid water behavior and uncovers a transition from continuous to pulsating transport, providing new insight into multiphase ...

China's Low‐Carbon Energy Transition Over the Past Two Decades: Experiences and Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
China's low‐carbon energy transition features a brief decline and subsequent rebound in coal consumption, alongside the rapid expansion of renewable energy. This study develops a stage‐based analytical framework to explain this evolution from the perspectives of economic development, energy security, and environmental sustainability, revealing how ...

Minimal Transport Units Govern Oxygen‐Defect Stabilization and Transport for Lightweight Solid Electrolytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lightweight borate chemistry combined with minimal transport units provides a new pathway for designing lightweight oxide‐ion solid electrolytes. ABSTRACT Solid electrolytes are central to electrochemical energy technologies, including fuel cells, sensors, catalysis, membrane separation, and electrolyser.

α‐Synuclein Forms Distinct Micelle‐Like Assemblies at Low Ionic Strengths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
At high ionic strength, α‐synuclein forms diverse assemblies, including oligomers, fibrils, and condensates. Here, we show that at low ionic strength, α‐synuclein adopts a distinct, low‐abundance assembly state. These assemblies maintain a constant size above a critical concentration and do not coalesce, suggesting a micelle‐like organization ...
