Double metasurfaces and Optimal transport [PDF]
This paper constructs metalenses that separate homogeneous media with different refractive indices, refracting one domain into another while conserving a prescribed energy distribution. Using optimal transport theory, we design singlet and doublet metalenses for energy-conserving by refraction and employ multi-marginal optimal transport to create a ...

Tunable Thermoshrinkable Hydrogels for 4D Fabrication of Cell‐Seeded Channels
A thermoresponsive polymer with methacrylate groups for photo‐cross‐linking, based on polyethylene glycol, N‐isopropylacrylamide, and 2‐hydroxyethyl acrylate is synthetized to yield hydrogels that shrink upon temperature increase. The new polymer enables the fabrication of cell‐laden perfusable channels with diameters below 200 µm by combining ...

This study presents a novel donor‐bridge‐acceptor‐bridge‐donor (D‐B‐A‐B‐D) molecular system, which shows near‐unity intramolecular excitation energy transfer (IET) from two identical energy donors to a coplanar acceptor. It enables a four‐level energy system for efficient lasing at the acceptor emission band in a microspherical cavity with a low lasing

Fully Bio‐Based Epoxy Resins from Liquefied Wood for Chemically Recyclable Wood Coatings
A bio‐based and chemically recyclable epoxy resin derived from liquefied wood and its use in wood coatings is presented. The resin exhibits mechanical, thermal, and water‐resistant properties comparable to commercial coatings and can be chemically recycled and reused. This approach provides fast access to glossy and fully biobased durable wood coatings

Synthetic cells are engineered herein to respond to an external chemical messenger by the activation of intracellular catalysis. The chemical messenger molecules are catalytically generated by an extracellular enzyme or a mineral surface, whereas the intracellular catalysis emerges via direct enzyme activation or via protein refolding.
