Refractive Lenticule Extraction Complications

Cornea, 2015
To report the complications associated with refractive lenticule extraction (ReLEx) in its 2 modalities: femtosecond lenticule extraction (FLEx) and small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE).In this retrospective review of a consecutive clinical case series, all patients who had a complicated ReLex FLEx or ReLEx SMILE procedure at the Cornea and ...

Small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) refractive surgery: Our initial experience

Medical Journal Armed Forces India, 2022
Small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) is femtosecond laser based, minimally invasive, flap-free refractive surgery gaining worldwide acceptance as a safe alternative to flap based refractive surgeries.A retrospective data review study was done where preoperative and postoperative data were collected for 202 eyes of 101 patients who underwent ...

Irregular astigmatism after femtosecond laser refractive lenticule extraction

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2013
We report a case of irregular corneal astigmatism after refractive lenticule extraction. A refractive lenticule was created using a femtosecond laser and then extracted through a small arcuate incision. One day postoperatively, the corneal findings by slitlamp biomicroscopy indicated mild corneal edema.
