Meteorological interpretation of near-surface refractivity measurements
Measurements of the radio refractive index (or refractivity) of near-surface air using phase information from radar ground echoes can be used to provide valuable humidity information on storm-scale anomalies not adequately resolved by the surface ...

Refractivity Statistics For Two Countries In The Middle East [PDF]
This paper presents and compares the results of refractive index studies for Mersa Matrouh, Egypt, and Doha, Qatar. Statistics for surface refractivity and refractivity gradients at different heights from the surface are computed.

A new benign solvent (1,3‐diphenylacetone) enables a simple, safe, and sustainable dissolution and gelation method to convert waste PET into low density, monolithic aerogels with high mechanical strength (E = 20 MPa) and remarkably low thermal conductivity (k = 21.9 to 28.9 mW/m·K).

The Investigation of Surface Radio Refractivity Over Lokoja, Kogi State Nigeria
This research investigated the variation of Surface Radio Refractivity and its propagation effects on radio signals over Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria. The study used six years (2015-2020) of satellite data on temperature, pressure, relative humidity and

Studies of Super-Refractivity and Ducting of Radiowaves in Nigeria
Studies of tropospheric refraction of long and short wavelength radio signals have been carried out in the coastal and savannah areas of Nigeria using meteorological data collected by radiosondes in Lagos (30 45' E, 60 28' N) and Kano (80 30' E, 120 2'N).

Programmable Stepwise Heteroepitaxial Growth of Colloidal Crystals With Different Phases
Stepwise heteroepitaxial growth is adapted to colloidal crystal engineering with DNA, enabling face‐centered cubic (fcc) facets to grow on body‐centered cubic (bcc) crystals with 110 facets. This approach tolerates large lattice mismatches, extending heteroepitaxy beyond the limits of conventional atomic systems.

Second‐Harmonic Hyper‐Mie Optical Activity Enables Closed‐Loop Chiral Photochemistry
Nonlinear chiral photochemistry is demonstrated in CdTe/CdO nanohelices, where circularly polarized infrared light both drives and tracks photo‐oxidation via second‐harmonic scattering. This closed‐loop process reveals real‐time structural evolution, including shell fracturing and core exposure, accompanied by a transition from hyper‐Mie to hyper ...
