What Is Your Diagnosis? Leukocytosis With Abnormal WDF and WNR Scattergrams From the Sysmex XN‐1000V in a Dog

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
SUMMARY In dogs, the WDF and WNR scattergrams from the Sysmex XN‐1000V enable a highly presumptive interpretation of mastocytemia. This is the first description of abnormal circulating mast cells using the Sysmex XN‐1000V, which appears to function similarly to the previous analyzer, the Sysmex XT‐2000iV.

Poly(acrylic acid)-coated iron oxide nanoparticles : quantitative evaluation of the coating properties and applications for the removal of a pollutant dye

open access: yes, 2012
In this work, 6 to 12 nm iron oxide nanoparticles were synthesized and coated with poly(acrylic acid) chains of molecular weight 2100 g/mol. Based on a quantitative evaluation of the dispersions, the bare and coated particles were thoroughly ...

Infection with the Neorickettsial Organism Stellantchasmus falcatus Agent in an Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus)

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 1‐year‐old female‐intact arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) presented for diarrhea, lethargy, severe thrombocytopenia, and hyperbilirubinemia. Blood film evaluation revealed intracytoplasmic coccoid bacteria within moderate numbers of leukocytes consistent with infection by a rickettsial organism.

Integrated optics refractometry: sensitivity in relation to spectral shifts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A new variant of the Vernier-effect based sensor reported in ref. 1 is introduced. Both sensor types may show a huge index induced spectral shift. It will be shown in a poster presentation that with such sensors, as well as with surface plasmon based ...

Risk Factors for and Prevalence of Failure of Passive Transfer of Immunity in Calves on Dairy Farms in Türkiye

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
The prevalence of FPTI in this study was similar to reports internationally. This research shows that there were both modifiable and non‐modifiable significant risk factors for FPTI in Türkiye dairy herds, specifically colostrum feeding method and season of birth and herd size, dam parity and calf breed.

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 4, Page 727-736, April 2026.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.
