Molteno implant surgery in refractory glaucoma

Survey of Ophthalmology, 1990
In recent years aqueous drainage implants have become a useful adjuvant in the treatment of refractory glaucomas. The Molteno implant is one of the most widely used devices for providing a permanent channel of aqueous flow from the anterior chamber to a collecting reservoir in the posterior subconjunctival space.

Transscleral Diode Laser Photocoagulation in Refractory Glaucoma

Ophthalmologica, 2001
Background and Objective: Patients with glaucoma refractory to medical or surgical treatment are difficult to treat. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of contact transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation (DLPC) on these patients’ intra-ocular pressure (IOP) and visual acuity.

Membrane-tube-type glaucoma shunt device for refractory glaucoma surgery

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 2016
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a novel membrane-tube (MT)-type glaucoma shunt device for refractory glaucoma surgery. The device consists of an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene membranous reservoir, as well as a silicone tube (300-μm external and 200-μm internal diameter) with an intraluminal stent.

Pars plana insertion of glaucoma drainage devices for refractory glaucoma

Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology, 2006
AbstractBackground:  Glaucoma drainage devices are more commonly inserted into the anterior chamber because of the relative ease of this method of insertion. However, in certain cases, posterior placement of the tube may be necessary or may be more desirable.

Combined Cyclectomy-Trabeculectomy Procedure for Refractory Glaucoma

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2004
Abstract. A new surgical technique for cases of refractory glaucoma is described. The technique has been performed on 42 severely glaucomatous eyes. The technique consists of a partial excision of the ciliary body combined with a trabeculectomy to maintain an effective filtration by several passages. All excised material was verified as ciliary body by
