Microstructure and properties of Al0.5NbTi3VxZr2 refractory high entropy alloys combined with high strength and ductility

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
Novel lightweight Al0.5NbTi3VxZr2 (x = 0.5, 1.0, 1.5) refractory high entropy alloys were synthesized by vacuum arc melting. The microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of Al0.5NbTi3VxZr2 alloys were analyzed. All Al0.5NbTi3VxZr2 alloys have a

Oxidation Behavior of Refractory AlNbTiVZr0.25 High-Entropy Alloy [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2018
Oxidation behavior of a refractory AlNbTiVZr0.25 high-entropy alloy at 600–900 °C was investigated. At 600–700 °C, two-stage oxidation kinetics was found: Nearly parabolic oxidation (n = 0.46–0.48) at the first stage, transitioned to breakaway oxidation (n = 0.75–0.72) at the second stage.

Homogenization of TiVTaNb refractory high-entropy alloy

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2022
Homogenization of refractory high entropy alloys (RHEAs) usually requires very high annealing temperatures and long periods due to the high melting temperature of alloying elements and the sluggish diffusion effects. TiVTaNb is a typical RHEA with excellent mechanical properties.

Microstructure Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Refractory Mo-Nb-V-W-Ti High-Entropy Alloys

open access: yesMetals, 2020
High-entropy alloys can either be defined as solid solution alloys containing at least five elements in equiatomic or near-equiatomic composition, or as alloys with high configurational entropies (larger than 1.5R), regardless of the number of elements ...

Solid solution softening at room temperature and hardening at elevated temperatures: a case by minor Mn addition in a (HfNbTi)85Mo15 refractory high entropy alloy

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2023
To address the conflict between room-temperature (RT) ductility and high-temperature (HT) strength in single phase bcc-structured refractory high entropy alloys, here we propose to use minor alloying to achieve solid solution softening at RT and ...
