Irradiation-Hardening Model of TiZrHfNbMo0.1 Refractory High-Entropy Alloys

open access: yesEntropy
In order to find more excellent structural materials resistant to radiation damage, high-entropy alloys (HEAs) have been developed due to their characteristics of limited point defect diffusion such as lattice distortion and slow diffusion. Specially, refractory high-entropy alloys (RHEAs) that can adapt to a high-temperature environment are badly ...

Magneto‐X Effects in Magnetic Soft Materials and Their Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review systematically explores magnetic soft materials (MSMs), a novel class of composites that transform under magnetic fields. It catalogs fundamental “Magneto‐X” effects, classifies materials by their matrix and magnetic fillers, and highlights transformative applications in soft robotics, biomedical devices, flexible electronics, etc. Finally,

Multi‐Physical Field Modulated P‐Bit Device Based on VO2 Thin Film

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We have proposed a VO2‐based P‐bit device where synergistic multi‐physical field modulation enables real‐time tunability of randomness. Besides introducing a new phase‐change material‐based device approach for high‐performance P‐bits, this study also demonstrates a synergistic multi‐physical field modulation strategy that opens new opportunities for ...

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Europe's contribution to the evaluation of the use of systemic antimicrobials in the treatment of periodontitis

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract This narrative review celebrates Europe's contribution to the current knowledge on systemically administered antimicrobials in periodontal treatment. Periodontitis is the most frequent chronic noncommunicable human disease. It is caused by dysbiotic bacterial biofilms and is commonly treated with subgingival instrumentation.

Progress of refractory high entropy alloys

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials
The current research status of refractory high-entropy alloys(RHEAs) is reviewed, the composition design of RHEAs is described, and the effects of metal elements and non-metal elements on the structure and properties of RHEAs are summarized. In addition, the microstructure and mechanical properties of RHEAs under different preparation methods are ...

Solid-solution strengthening in refractory high entropy alloys

open access: yesActa Materialia, 2019
Abstract Compression stress-strain curves of a number of refractory high entropy alloys (RHEAs) were generated at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 1000 °C. It is shown that solid-solution strengthening in these alloys has both an athermal and a thermal component.

Exchange Length Tailored Magnetic Resonance for Broadband Absorption in FeCo‐Based Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To break the high‐frequency magnetic loss bottleneck in soft magnetic alloys, a magnetic exchange length (Lex)‐guided strategy is proposed. Cu doping increases Lex and intergranular coupling, which effectively reduces magnetic anisotropy and pushes the exchange resonance to 12.0 GHz.

Effect of microstructure on hydrogen absorption in WMoTaNbV high-entropy alloy

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
The refractory high entropy alloy, WMoTaNbV, absorbs significant quantities of H directly from the atmosphere. The effective hydrogen absorption has been attributed to the elemental composition of the alloy as well as its highly elaborate lattice ...

High‐Sensitive Mass Cytometry Metal Tags Based on Noble Metal Nanoparticles Assisting Acute Myeloid Leukemia Immune Checkpoint Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mass cytometry is optimal for acute leukemia immune checkpoint profiling. However, current commercial metal‐chelating polymer (MCP) metal tags limit its sensitivity due to low metal loading capacity. We report a novel synthetic strategy employing antibody‐conjugated gold or platinum nanoparticles (AuNP/PtNP) for high‐dimensional single‐cell ...
