Low charge detection and diagnoses for non-critically charged refrigeration system
2017 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT), 2017In this paper, a new set of algorithms has been developed to detect low charge fault for single compressor non-critically charged refrigeration system for both frozen and perishable goods. A mix of field units' data and experimental data were used to build the detection algorithms. Multiple detection algorithms were devised based on the operation modes.

Abstract The performance of an automotive refrigeration system is dependent on the refrigerant charge level. Due to inevitable leaks in the system, the amount of refrigerant will decrease over time and thus ultimately reduce the system's performance.

In this work the thermodynamic behavior of a household refrigerator was experimentally studied by simultaneously varying the refrigerant charge and the expansion restriction. A special charging device was designed and constructed for this purpose comprised of a cylinder, a load cell and two solenoid valves.

Design and optimisation of refrigerating systems with reduced refrigerant charge

Abstract A computer simulation of two-evaporator refrigerators charged with pure and mixed refrigerants operating on a Lorentz and Meutzner's cycle has been performed to determine possible substitutes for R12 with an improved energy efficiency. The results for pure fluids indicate that the coefficients of performance (COPs) and volumetric capacities ...

Rationally based model for evaluating the optimal refrigerant mass charge in refrigerating machines
Energy Conversion and Management, 2001A rationally based algorithm was proposed to evaluate the optimal mass charge into refrigerating machines. The calculated results indicate that the system performance is strongly related to the refrigerant mass charge. In the early stage of the refrigerant charge process, a sharp rise of COP is observed. The COP reaches an optimal value for a specified

Abstract In the article a problem of refrigerant charge reduction of the transport refrigerating system with eutectic plate evaporator is analysed. Such system generates cold during the night, with the vehicle in the depot, and during the day it operates without access to electricity supply.

Refrigeration in the food industry. Electrical consumption and refrigerants charges
