Environmental protection and refrigerants substitution strategy

2009 4th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2009
In current, the refrigerants of the refrigeration and air-conditioning are more about CFC and HCFC, these substances are damaging to the ozone layer and greenhouse. 1987 launched the “Montreal Protocol” is to protect the Earth's ozone layer international document, and in 1997 launched the “Kyoto Protocol” is to slow global warming international ...

New fluids as substitute refrigerants for R12

Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 1997
Abstract The aim of the present study is to suggest two new fluids as alternatives of R12 in a vapour compression cycle. These fluids are the methyl trifluoromethyl ether (E143a) and the hexafluorocyclopropane (C216), which belong to halogenated derivatives of dimethyl ether and cyclopropane, respectively.

Comparative Performance of Low-GWP Refrigerants as Substitutes for R134a in a Vapor Compression Refrigeration System

Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, 2020
This study predicts numerically the performance of low-GWP refrigerants [R152a, R1234yf and R1234ze(E)] as an alternative to R134a in a vapor compression refrigeration system. The plate heat exchanger was used as a condenser, and the appropriate correlations available in the published literature were used to predict the heat transfer coefficients and ...

Single-molecule refrigerators: Substitution and gate effects

Applied Physics Letters, 2011
Using a first-principles approach, we investigate the quantum cooling effects in single-molecule junctions. In comparison with the unsubstituted butanethiol single-molecule junction as a refrigerator, the amino-substituted butanethiol single-molecule junction shows significant enhancement in the coefficient of performance (COP).
