Liver Regeneration

Science, 1997
Liver regeneration after the loss of hepatic tissue is a fundamental parameter of liver response to injury. Recognized as a phenomenon from mythological times, it is now defined as an orchestrated response induced by specific external stimuli and involving sequential changes in gene expression, growth factor production, and morphologic structure.

Neural Regeneration

2012
Regeneration of the nervous system requires either the repair or replacement of nerve cells that have been damaged by injury or disease. While lower organisms possess extensive capacity for neural regeneration, evolutionarily higher organisms including humans are limited in their ability to regenerate nerve cells, posing significant issues for the ...

Regeneration of Dialysate

Artificial Organs, 1979
AbstractLarge amounts (250 liters) of dialysate fluid are needed for dialysis of patients with chronic kidney diseases. A reduction of these amounts is obtainable by regeneration. With the Redy® system, in which urea is decomposed by the enzyme urease, only 5.5 liters of dialysate is used.

Epigenetics and Regeneration

2012
During newt lens regeneration a unique transdifferentiation event occurs. In this process, dorsal iris pigmented epithelial cells transdifferentiate into lens cells. This system should provide a new insight into cellular plasticity in basic and applied research.
