Homeostasis of Gut Microbiota Protects against Susceptibility to Fungal Pneumonia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fungal pneumonia induces inflammation, shown by heightened IL‐6, IL‐1β, TNF‐α levels and a growth in Staphylococcus in the alveolar flora. The gut microbiota, acting through the gut‐lung axis via blood, impacts fungal pneumonia susceptibility by altering lung metabolism and inflammatory responses.

NIR Driven Pd/Cerium Oxide Nano‐Heterojunction for Enhanced Salvaging Sepsis Induced Acute Liver Injury via Reprogramming Redox Homeostasis in Synergy with Inducing Autophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In vivo SALI therapy is achieved by scavenging intracellular ROS levels, downregulating inflammatory factors expression levels, inducing macrophage M2 directional polarization, and activating Keap1/Nrf‐2/HO‐1 pathway to reprogram redox homeostasis, induce cellular autophagy, reduce systemic inflammation, and promote liver tissue repair. Exosomes From Intestinal Epithelial Cells Promote Hepatic Differentiation of Liver Progenitor Cells in Gut‐Liver‐on‐a‐Chip Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The effects of intestinal epithelial cells and their exosomes on the hepatic differentiation of HPCs are explored in a gut‐liver‐on‐a‐chip. Exosomes from intestinal epithelial cells improve liver fibrosis. Moreover, the miR‐371‐373 cluster in the exosomes may mediate this effect by regulating the hepatic differentiation of HPCs.

Tracing and Capturing the Epiblast Pluripotency of Sheep Preimplantation Embryos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study performs a comprehensive single‐cell transcriptome analysis of sheep embryos from embryonic (E) day 1 to E14 to elucidate the mechanism of early lineage specification and the pluripotency changes (naïve, formative, and primed) of epiblast.
