Navigating the boundary between ‘normative’ and ‘non‐normative’ collective action: A British case study of the removal of a public statue associated with racism

open access: yesBritish Journal of Social Psychology, Volume 65, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Psychological research typically distinguishes between normative (e.g., peaceful protests, petitions) and non‐normative (e.g., property destruction, riots) collective action. This binary framework has proved useful in exploring the psychological factors that shape different forms of collective action.

Messages for ultraviolet‐radiation protection to fair‐skinned populations

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 576-582, April 2026.
This expert consensus summarizes messages for UV protection in fair‐skinned populations. Key messages include no sunbathing or tanning, no sunbeds. UV protection measures are to be used from UV index 3. Priority is given to shade and physical protection. Sunscreen with a strong SPF is to be used on uncovered areas.

Lucid Dreaming: Not Just Awareness, but Agency

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 35, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT During lucid dreaming (LD), dreamers are aware that they are dreaming and may be able to influence the oneiric content. There has been recent debate about the relative importance of the ability to influence the dream and having agency over the pure awareness of dreaming.

Facial Emotion Recognition in Children With Narcolepsy Type 1

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 35, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Narcolepsy type 1 is a neurological disorder typically emerging in childhood or adolescence, characterised by excessive daytime sleepiness, cataplexy and rapid eye movement sleep‐related symptoms. Beyond its core features, increasing evidence suggests an impact on socio‐cognitive development, including difficulties in understanding others ...

Reconfigurable Magnetic Soft Microrobot for Acoustically Triggered Targeted Bacterial Sterilization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 24, 23 March 2026.
Reconfigurable magnetic soft microrobots integrate in situ‐grown piezoelectric zinc oxide nanorods that produce reactive oxygen species upon acoustic excitation. Combining magnetically guided transport with thermally induced planar reconfiguration, the microrobots achieve targeted delivery and enhanced bacterial sterilization through efficient on ...

Assessing the Mechanism of NH3 Sensing in Flexible Carbon‐Nanotube‐Based Chemoresistive Sensors via In Situ Photoemission Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 5, 4 March 2026.
Flexible carbon nanotube chemoresistors detect NH3 through charge‐transfer interactions directly revealed by in situ synchrotron X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Binding‐energy shifts of ≈1 eV correlate with resistance changes, demonstrating that intra‐CNT charge transfer between NH3 and CNTs is the dominant sensing mechanism.
