Timing and magnitude of climate‐driven range shifts in transboundary fish stocks challenge their management

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 28, Issue 7, Page 2312-2326, April 2022., 2022
We use model projections to explore the timing and intensity in the distribution of marine fish stocks that are shared across the world's Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ). Our findings suggest that many shared stocks’ distribution and catch are expected to change in most EEZs by 2030.

The contribution of the European Union to global climate change governance: explaining the conditions for EU actorness

Biomass production of tropical trees across space and time: The shifting roles of diameter growth and wood density

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 113, Issue 11, Page 3141-3158, November 2025.
Diameter growth is an important and good indicator of forest carbon production. However, size‐related changes in wood density, which are usually neglected, are critical for accurate short‐ and long‐term carbon assessments, especially in tropical humid sites.

Waste pickers in extended producer responsibility policies: A comparative analysis of Brazil and the European Union

open access: yesReview of European, Comparative &International Environmental Law, Volume 34, Issue 2, Page 352-364, July 2025.
Abstract This article presents a case study of extended producer responsibility (EPR) policies adopted by the European Union (EU) and Brazil. It focuses on waste pickers—a group increasingly visible in EU countries such as Spain and Italy. While EU directives emphasise the polluter pays principle, little attention is given to the role of informal ...

Do public works programmes foster climate resilience? Conceptual framework and review of empirical evidence

open access: yesInternational Social Security Review, Volume 78, Issue 2-3, Page 145-171, April-September 2025.
Abstract Public works programmes (PWPs) are pervasively used to tackle poverty and unemployment, and to build infrastructure and skills in low‐ and middle‐income countries. While their impacts on poverty, food security and labour outcomes have been widely documented, there is little research focusing on the role of PWPs in supporting household climate ...

Informing forest carbon inventories under the Paris Agreement using ground‐based forest monitoring data

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 105-116, January 2025.
Human interactions with forests have shaped Earth's climate for millennia and will continue to do so as we target net‐zero emission goals. Accurately characterizing these climate impacts requires making accurate forest carbon data available for forest monitoring and planning.
