Selective Segmentation of Piecewise Homogeneous Regions

2020
In this article, a novel method for the interactive segmentation of the object and background which has multiple piecewise homogeneous intensities has been introduced. We have proposed a new energy function based on intensity points selected from multiple homogeneous regions in the object and background.

The classification of hydrologically homogeneous regions

Hydrological Sciences Journal, 1999
Abstract With the operation and maintenance of streamgauging networks in many developing countries coming under increasing pressure through lack of funds and suitably trained personnel, greater reliance must be placed on procedures for transferring information from gauged to ungauged catchment areas.

HOMOGENEOUS LOCALLY SYMMETRIC REGIONS IN HOMOGENEOUS SPACES ASSOCIATED WITH SEMISIMPLE JORDAN ALGEBRAS

Mathematics of the USSR-Sbornik, 1970
The search for such regions is equivalent to the search for certain subalgebras in the Lie algebra of the group of transformations of a homogeneous space. The latter problem is solved for homogeneous spaces compared in a definite way with semisimple Jordan algebras.

Growth and homogeneity region of CdTe

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1996
Abstract The works concerning the data regarding solid-phase transformations in cadmium telluride are considered. On the basis of these works the region of CdTe homogeneity has been plotted. The region is characterized by Cd and Te solubility in the range of 1019–1020 cm−3 as well as availability of two-phase fields in the temperature range of solid ...

Homogeneous Climate Regions Using Learning Algorithms

2018
Climate analysis is extremely useful to understand better the differences of electricity consumption within the French territory and to help electricity consumption forecasts. Using a large historical data base of 14 years of meteorological observations, this work aims to study a segmentation of the French territory based on functional time series of ...

Homogeneous regions on the conformal sphere

Mathematical Notes of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, 1970
All regions on a sphere which are similar with respect to a group of conformal transformations of this sphere are determined. Such regions are: the whole sphere, a hemisphere, the complement of a sphere of lower dimension, and the complement of a point.

Homogeneity of regional brain lead concentrations.

Neurotoxicology, 1995
It has been proposed that the neurobiological basis of many of the behavioral manifestations arising in response to Pb exposure may be due to selective vulnerability of particular brain regions, such as hippocampus, a region in which preferential accumulation has been reported in some studies.

Double Minutes and Homogeneously Stained Regions

1986
Double minutes (DMs) and homogeneously stained regions (HSRs) provide good examples of phenomena that were originally regarded as cytological oddities but that have turned out to be expressions of a fundamental process, gene amplification. Evidence for the structure and behavior of DMs and HSRs comes from two sources: human and animal cancers and cell ...
