An Optimal, Power Efficient, Internet of Medical Things Framework for Monitoring of Physiological Data Using Regression Models

open access: yesSensors
The sensors used in the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) network run on batteries and need to be replaced, replenished or should use energy harvesting for continuous power needs. Additionally, there are mechanisms for better utilization of battery power

Efficacy and Tolerability of Topotecan/Cyclophosphamide/Dinutuximab in Relapsed and Refractory High‐Risk Neuroblastoma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Chemoimmunotherapy with irinotecan, temozolomide, and dinutuximab (I/T/DIN) has emerged as first‐line therapy for relapsed/refractory (r/r) high‐risk neuroblastoma (HRNB) in North America. Topotecan and cyclophosphamide (T/C) are often used in combination with dinutuximab in the setting of lack of response, progression, or incomplete ...

Continuum Regression and Ridge Regression

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1993
SUMMARY We demonstrate the close relationship between first-factor continuum regression and standard ridge regression. The difference is that continuum regression inserts a scalar compensation factor for that part of the shrinkage in ridge regression that has no connection with tendencies towards collinearity.

Clinical Course and Impact of Breaks in Therapy for Children With Relapsed/Refractory Solid Tumors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pediatric relapsed or refractory (R/R) solid tumors carry a dismal prognosis, and postrelapse patient experiences are not well described. We present postrelapse outcomes, including number of R/R events and subsequent therapy regimens.

Regression Revisited [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, 2008
Summary Sir Francis Galton introduced median regression and the use of the quantile function to describe distributions. Very early on the tradition moved to mean regression and the universal use of the Normal distribution, either as the natural ‘error’ distribution or as one forced by transformation.

The Efficacy and Safety of Bevacizumab/Irinotecan/Temozolomide (BIT) for Relapsed/Refractory Neuroblastoma: The UK Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group Experience

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with high‐risk neuroblastoma who either are refractory to induction chemotherapy or relapse following multi‐modal treatment have a dismal prognosis. Based on data from the BEACON trial, since 2021 the UK national guidelines recommend bevacizumab, irinotecan, and temozolomide (BIT) for patients with relapsed/refractory ...

Implementing Health‐Related Quality of Life Assessment in Pediatric Oncology: A Feasibility Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background There is growing interest in embedding health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) assessment and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs) within clinical cancer care. This study evaluated the feasibility, acceptability, and usability of implementing an electronic PROM (ePROM) platform to measure HRQoL in children with cancer ...
