Estimating Incumbency Effects Using Regression Discontinuity Design
In recent years, research on the incumbency effect using a regression discontinuity design has flourished. Although the regression discontinuity design has allowed scholars to examine the incumbency effect in various electoral settings, previous studies ...

Optimal inference in a class of regression models [PDF]
We consider the problem of constructing confidence intervals (CIs) for a linear functional of a regression function, such as its value at a point, the regression discontinuity parameter, or a regression coefficient in a linear or partly linear regression.

Regression Discontinuity Designs as Local Randomized Experiments
:In the seminal paper from 1960, Thistlethwaite and Campbell (1960) introduce the key ideas underlying regression discontinuity (RD) designs, which, even if initially almost completely ignored, have then acted as a fuse of a blowing number of studies ...

Using Bid Rotation and Incumbency to Detect Collusion: A Regression Discontinuity Approach
Cartels participating in procurement auctions frequently use bid rotation or prioritize incumbents to allocate contracts. However, establishing a link between observed allocation patterns and firm conduct has been difficult: there are cost-based ...

Local Composite Quantile Regression for Regression Discontinuity [PDF]
We introduce the local composite quantile regression (LCQR) to causal inference in regression discontinuity (RD) designs. Kai et al. (2010) study the efficiency property of LCQR, while we show that its nice boundary performance translates to accurate estimation of treatment effects in RD under a variety of data generating processes.

Using the Chow Test to Analyze Regression Discontinuities [PDF]
The Chow Test (Chow, 1960) is a method well known in econometrics. It was originally designed to analyze the same variables obtained in two different data sets to determine if they were similar enough to be pooled together.

Understanding Regression Discontinuity Designs As Observational Studies
Thistlethwaite and Campbell (1960) proposed to use a “regression-discontinuity analysis” in settings where exposure to a treatment or intervention is determined by an observable score and a fixed cutoff.
