Incumbency, Party Identity and Governmental Lead: Evidence for Heterogeneous Incumbency Effects for Germany [PDF]

open access: yes
Do incumbents in an election have an advantage, and if so, are these advantages heterogeneous across parties or government and opposition? We first present a theoretical discussion on the possible heterogeneity of incumbency effects in a pure two-party ...

Myelitis‐Predominant Aggressive Phenotype: Unveiling Unique Patterns of Late‐Onset Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective The objective of this study was to compare clinical features and prognosis of late‐onset neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (LO‐NMOSD, onset age ≥60 years) with adult‐onset NMOSD (AO‐NMOSD, onset age 18–59 years), and to provide insights for individualized management in elderly patients.

Efficient Dynamics: Reduced‐Order Modeling of the Time‐Dependent Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Reduced‐order modeling (ROM) approaches for the time‐dependent Schrödinger equation are investigated, highlighting their ability to simulate quantum dynamics efficiently. Proper Orthogonal Decomposition, Dynamic Mode Decomposition, and Reduced Basis Methods are compared across canonical systems and extended to higher dimensions.

Evaluating the impact of innovation incentives: evidence from an unexpected shortage of funds [PDF]

open access: yes
To evaluate the effect of an R&D subsidy one needs to know what the subsidized firms would have done without the incentive. This paper studies an Italian programme of subsidies for the applied development of innovations, exploiting a discontinuity in ...

Regression Discontinuity Design with Spillovers

open access: yes
This paper studies regression discontinuity designs (RDD) when linear-in-means spillovers occur between units that are close in their running variable. We show that the RDD estimand depends on the ratio of two terms: (1) the radius over which spillovers occur and (2) the choice of bandwidth used for the local linear regression.
