Group Lasso for high dimensional sparse quantile regression models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper studies the statistical properties of the group Lasso estimator for high dimensional sparse quantile regression models where the number of explanatory variables (or the number of groups of explanatory variables) is possibly much larger than ...

The asymptotic distribution of the isotonic regression estimator over a general countable pre-ordered set

open access: yes, 2018
We study the isotonic regression estimator over a general countable pre-ordered set. We obtain the limiting distribution of the estimator and study its properties.

Novel Genetic Risk Factor Identified for L‐Asparaginase‐Induced Pancreatitis in Pediatric Patients With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background L‐asparaginase is a critical component in treatment protocols for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Acute pancreatitis reactions can necessitate delays and, in some cases, discontinuation of L‐asparaginase, which compromises outcomes.

Estimation of the finite population covariance using calibration

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2010
Estimators of the finite population covariance with several systems of weights are considered. New calibrated estimators of the finite population covariance (variance) are derived, using two and three weighting systems that are defined by various ...

The Lasso for High-Dimensional Regression with a Possible Change-Point [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We consider a high-dimensional regression model with a possible change-point due to a covariate threshold and develop the Lasso estimator of regression coefficients as well as the threshold parameter.

Modified Regression Estimators for Improving Mean Estimation -Poisson Regression Approach

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Statistics and Operation Research, 2022
In this article, a class of Poisson-regression based estimators has been proposed for estimating the finite population mean in simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR). The Poisson-regression model is the most common method used to model count responses in many studies. The expression for bias and mean square error (MSE) of proposed class of

Outcomes and Surgical Management of Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney: A Report From the Pediatric Surgical Oncology Research Collaborative

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Malignant rhabdoid tumor of the kidney (MRTK) is a rare, aggressive tumor seen in young children. The optimal timing of resection for locally advanced tumors is not well‐defined. The purpose of this study is to evaluate modern oncologic outcomes and the impact of surgical timing. Methods A multicenter retrospective review was performed

Weighted Median Regression Estimates

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1978
In the simple linear regression problem $\{Y_i = \alpha + \beta x_i + e_i i = 1,\cdots, n, e_i$ i.i.d. $\sim F$ continuous, $x_1 \leqq \cdots \leqq x_n$ known, $\alpha, \beta$ unknown$\}$ we investigate the following type of estimator: To each $s_{ij} = (Y_j - Y_i)/(x_j - x_i)$ with $x_i < x_j$ attach weight $w_{ij}$ and as estimator for $\beta ...

MYCN Amplification in RB1‐Inactivated Retinoblastoma: Association With High‐Risk Features

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background MYCN amplification occurs in a subset of retinoblastoma cases, both with and without RB1 inactivation. It has been suggested that retinoblastomas with MYCN amplification represent a distinct entity with more aggressive clinical behavior.

Noncrossing quantile regression curve estimation [PDF]

open access: yesBiometrika, 2010
Since quantile regression curves are estimated individually, the quantile curves can cross, leading to an invalid distribution for the response. A simple constrained version of quantile regression is proposed to avoid the crossing problem for both linear and nonparametric quantile curves.
