Associated with every popular nonlinear estimation method is at least one "artificial" linear regression. We define an artificial regression in terms of three conditions that it must satisfy.

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using

Double-Length Artificial Regressions [PDF]
Artificial linear regressions often provide a convenient way to calculate test statistics and estimate covariance matrices. This paper discusses one family of these regressions, called "double-length" because the number of observations in the artificial ...

Model uncertainty in cross-country growth regressions [PDF]
We investigate the issue of model uncertainty in cross-country growth regressions using Bayesian Model Averaging (BMA). We find that the posterior probability is very spread among many models suggesting the superiority of BMA over choosing any single ...

A solution to minimum sample size for regressions.
Regressions and meta-regressions are widely used to estimate patterns and effect sizes in various disciplines. However, many biological and medical analyses use relatively low sample size (N), contributing to concerns on reproducibility.

Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Specification Tests Based on Artificial Regressions [PDF]
Many specification tests can be computed by means of artificial linear regressions. These are linear regressions designed to be used as calculating devices to obtain test statistics and other quantities of interest.

Bayesian Analysis of Coefficient Instability in Dynamic Regressions
This paper deals with instability in regression coefficients. We propose a Bayesian regression model with time-varying coefficients (TVC) that allows to jointly estimate the degree of instability and the time-path of the coefficients.
