Self-organization of surfaces on the nanoscale by topography-mediated selection of quasi-cylindrical and plasmonic waves

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
Using coupled electromagnetic and hydrodynamic calculations, we elucidate theoretically the topographic transition from a random metallic surface to a periodic sub-wavelength grating by ultrashort laser ablation. The origin of this transition lies in the

Irradiation‐Induced Spin Bath Evolution and as‐Grown Hydrogen Defects in CVD Diamond Revealed by NV‐Based DEER Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we provide the reader with the current state of the art in the fabrication of high‐T2‐coherence diamond, optimized through the use of double electron–electron resonance (DEER) spectroscopy. We reveal the main as well as yet unidentified spin defects, the reduction of which is essential for reducing the spin bath and fabricating materials for ...

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

Performance Enhancement of Tin Chloride‐Incorporated Ferroelectric Polymer‐Based Artificial Synapse for Hardware Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a highly efficient ferroelectric artificial synapse device based on an oxide semiconductor and SnCl2‐inserted P(VDF‐TrFE) gate dielectric layer. This FeFET significantly improved the synaptic performance due to the ion‐dipole interaction.

The emergence of flagpole and flag-dipole fermions in fluid/gravity correspondence

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
The emergence of flagpole and flag-dipole singular spinor fields is explored, in the context of fermionic sectors of fluid/gravity correspondence, arising from the duality between the gravitino, in supergravity, and the phonino, in supersymmetric ...

Research on the applicability of regularization methods in ship magnetic field modeling based on magnetic dipole arrays

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract In order to solve the problem of ship magnetic field modeling, a magnetic dipole array model was established, a modeling inversion equation system was constructed, and the degree of sickness of the solved equation system under different numbers of magnetic dipoles was quantitatively analyzed based on the coefficient matrix conditional ...

Programmable 2D Magnetic Clusterphenes With High Curie Temperature and Strong Magnetic Anisotropy via Cluster Assembly and Ligand Synergy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Programmable 2D magnetic clusterphenes are realized through a ligand‐mediated cluster‐assembly strategy. Direct linking of magnetic superatomic clusters enhances electron delocalization and symmetry breaking, enabling the concurrent strengthening of magnetic exchange interactions and spin–orbit coupling.

Signature of Triaxially Precessing Magnetars in Gamma-Ray Burst X-Ray Afterglows

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The X-ray afterglows of some gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) exhibit plateaus, which can be explained by the internal dissipation of a newborn millisecond magnetar wind.

Hyperchaos, Intermittency, Noise and Disorder in Modified Semiconductor Superlattices

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
Weakly coupled semiconductor superlattices under DC voltage bias are nonlinear systems with many degrees of freedom whose nonlinearity is due to sequential tunneling of electrons.
