A NEW, EFFECTIVE METHOD FOR COMPUTING THE INTERACTION POTENTIAL OF HARD CYCLIC MULTIMER SYSTEMS
Studies of efficiency of several methods for calculating the interaction potential of a pair of two-dimensional hard cyclic multimers – molecules formed by hard disks (atoms) placed at the vertices of a regular polygon – are reported in this work.

Random packing of regular polygons and star polygons on a flat two-dimensional surface [PDF]
Random packing of unoriented regular polygons and star polygons on a two-dimensional flat, continuous surface is studied numerically using random sequential adsorption algorithm. Obtained results are analyzed to determine saturated random packing ratio as well as its density autocorrelation function.

Dynamic Numerical Model of Mucus Feeding in Gastropoda
Molluscan saliva play critical roles in feeding by enhancing particle retention. A MATLAB‐based numerical model revealed that saliva's adhesion and viscosity significantly improve feeding efficiency by reducing particle loss and directing food particles toward the mouth.

Abstract A changing climate is altering ecosystem carbon dynamics with consequences for natural systems and human economies, but there are few tools available for land managers to meaningfully incorporate carbon trajectories into planning efforts. To address uncertainties wrought by rapidly changing conditions, many practitioners adopt resistance and ...

Convex Equipartitions via Equivariant Obstruction Theory [PDF]
We describe a regular cell complex model for the configuration space F(\R^d,n). Based on this, we use Equivariant Obstruction Theory to prove the prime power case of the conjecture by Nandakumar and Ramana Rao that every polygon can be partitioned into n

Adaptive Deployable Structure Enabled by Actively Controlled Tensegrity for Space Debris Removal
An innovative adaptive deployable structure leveraging tensegrity principles to capture and remove medium‐ and small‐sized space debris. The structure's active rope control ensures stability across various positions, enabling adaptive deformation. This design not only addresses space debris removal but also supports advancements in deployable antennas ...

Quasi-Exact Coulomb Dynamics of n Charges n-1 of Which Are Equal
For n≥3 point charges n-1 of which are negative and equal quasi-exact periodic solutions of their Coulomb equation of motion are found. These solutions describe a motion of the negative charges around a coordinate axis in such a way that their ...

Spectral determination of semi-regular polygons [PDF]
Let us say that an $n$-sided polygon is semi-regular if it is circumscriptible and its angles are all equal but possibly one, which is then larger than the rest. Regular polygons, in particular, are semi-regular. We prove that semi-regular polygons are spectrally determined in the class of convex piecewise smooth domains. Specifically, we show that if $

Regular polygon solutions of the $N$-body problem
On montre que pour N≥4, N masses aux sommets d'un polygone regulier, tournant autour de leur centre commun de masse avec une vitesse angulaire appropriee, decrit une solution periodique du probleme a N corps si et seulement si les masses sont ...
