New Arabic Records From Cairo on Supernovae 1181 and 1006

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The remnant of the historical supernova SN 1181 is under discussion: While the previously suggested G130.7+3.1 (3C58) appears too old (3000–5000 year), the unusual star IRAS00500+6713 with a surrounding nebula (Pa‐30) has an expansion age not inconsistent with a SN Iax explosion in ad 1181 under the assumption that neither acceleration nor ...

CO2 Hydrogenation Over K‐Promoted Fe‐Catalysts Derived from Mg–Al–Fe Quintinite‐Like Layered Double Hydroxide Precursor

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Conversion of CO2 and product selectivity for the (blue) OM‐FeMgAl catalyst and the (orange) OM‐FeMgAl‐K catalyst using the conditions: H2/CO2 = 3; T = 280 °C; P = 2.07 MPa; SV = 1.5 sL/h/gcat. Time on‐stream: 188 h. Adding K increased surface basicity, promoting CO2 adsorption and CO dissociation, altering the surface C/H pool. The carburized catalyst

ARC Expands the DAAM1 Microexon‐Mediated Actin–RHOA/ROCK Interplay

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Actin cytoskeleton and its dynamics play a crucial role in synaptic function, influencing dendritic spines' structural and functional plasticity. Recent findings unveiled the significance of alternative splicing of a neural‐specific microexon in DAAM1 in modulating actin's role in synaptic processes.

Dimer models and conformal structures

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract Dimer models have been the focus of intense research efforts over the last years. Our paper grew out of an effort to develop new methods to study minimizers or the asymptotic height functions of general dimer models and the geometry of their frozen boundaries.

Equivariant toric geometry and Euler–Maclaurin formulae

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We first investigate torus‐equivariant motivic characteristic classes of toric varieties, and then apply them via the equivariant Riemann–Roch formalism to prove very general Euler–Maclaurin‐type formulae for full‐dimensional simple lattice polytopes.
