Regular polygonal systems

open access: yesArs Mathematica Contemporanea, 2018
Let M  =  M ( Ω ) be any triangle-free tiling of a planar polygonal region Ω with regular polygons. We prove that its face vector f ( M ) = ( f 3 ,  f 4 ,  f 5 , …) , its symmetry group S ( M ) and the tiling M itself are uniquely determined by its boundary angles code c a ( M ) =  c a ( Ω ) = ( t 1 , …,  t r ) , a ...

New Arabic Records From Cairo on Supernovae 1181 and 1006

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The remnant of the historical supernova SN 1181 is under discussion: While the previously suggested G130.7+3.1 (3C58) appears too old (3000–5000 year), the unusual star IRAS00500+6713 with a surrounding nebula (Pa‐30) has an expansion age not inconsistent with a SN Iax explosion in ad 1181 under the assumption that neither acceleration nor ...

Statistical and Predictive Analysis of Supported Catalytically Active Metal Solutions (SCALMS) in Propane Dehydrogenation

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
A catalyst‐informatics framework for Ga‐Pt supported liquid alloy in propane dehydrogenation is presented. The framework, combining statistical analysis and machine learning, identifies key factors influencing catalyst performance and highlights the need for larger datasets for predictive design.

ARC Expands the DAAM1 Microexon‐Mediated Actin–RHOA/ROCK Interplay

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Actin cytoskeleton and its dynamics play a crucial role in synaptic function, influencing dendritic spines' structural and functional plasticity. Recent findings unveiled the significance of alternative splicing of a neural‐specific microexon in DAAM1 in modulating actin's role in synaptic processes.

Meningeal Solitary Fibrous Tumor: A Cytological Report With Emphasis on the Usefulness of Immunocytochemical Analysis for STAT6

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are rare neoplasms characterized by spindle neoplastic cell proliferation within collagenous stroma and prominent dilated vasculature. They present a wide histopathological spectrum, ranging from hypocellular lesions with a rich collagenous stroma to hypercellular lesions with scant stroma.

Wetlands as environments of early human occupation: A new classification for freshwater palaeowetlands

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
A new classification for inland freshwater palaeowetlands to be used in the field or core laboratory by sedimentologists, providing examples from the Guadix Basin (southern Spain). Abstract Present wetlands have proven to be delicate, biodiverse ecosystems, that are natural sinks for CO2 and act as good indicators for climate changes.
