UNFOLDED REGULAR AND SEMI-REGULAR POLYHEDRA

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2015
This paper proposes a presentation unfolding regular and semi-regular polyhedra. Regular polyhedra are convex polyhedra whose faces are regular and equal polygons, with the same number of sides, and whose polyhedral angles are also regular and equal ...

Biomimetic Vascular Scaffold with Seamless Electrospun Aligned Nanofiber Conduit and 3D‐Printed Coil Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Random Polygons and Estimations of π

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, we study the approximation of π through the semiperimeter or area of a random n-sided polygon inscribed in a unit circle in ℝ2. We show that, with probability 1, the approximation error goes to 0 as n → ∞, and is roughly sextupled when ...

Patient‐Derived 3D Heart‐On‐a‐Chip Model of Dilated Cardiomyopathy With Embedded Bead‐Based Mapping of Tissue Contractility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A heart‐on‐a‐chip model of dilated cardiomyopathy is developed from patient‐derived induced pluripotent stem cells. The model recapitulates key disease phenotypes and enables functional assessment through integrated bead‐based tracking and pillar deflection measurements.

Buckling loads of columns of regular polygon cross-section with constant volume and clamped ends

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Structural Engineering, 2002
A numerical method is developed for calculating the buckling loads of tapered columns of regular polygon cross-section with constant volume and both clamped ends. The linear, parabolic and sinusoidal tapers are considered in numerical examples. From the

Photoactive Tweezers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A photoactive tweezers system based on photoactive colloids is developed and systematically investigated in this study. Through experimental and theoretical methods, we demonstrate that the photoredox reaction catalyzed by a dye‐sensitized TiO2 particle generates a strong positive phototaxis, enabling self‐entrapment in the beam center.

Circle packing in regular polygons

open access: yesPhysics of Fluids, 2023
We study the packing of a large number of congruent and non-overlapping circles inside a regular polygon. We have devised efficient algorithms that allow one to generate configurations of N densely packed circles inside a regular polygon, and we have carried out intensive numerical experiments spanning several polygons (the largest number of sides ...

On m-ovoids of regular near polygons [PDF]

open access: yesDesigns, Codes and Cryptography, 2017
We generalise the work of Segre (1965), Cameron - Goethals - Seidel (1978), and Vanhove (2011) by showing that nontrivial $m$-ovoids of the dual polar spaces $DQ(2d, q)$, $DW(2d-1,q)$ and $DH(2d-1,q^2)$ ($d\ge 3$) are hemisystems. We also provide a more general result that holds for regular near polygons.

Sustainable Poly(Lactic Acid)/Graphene Oxide Bioelectronic Platform for Neurotransmitters Sensing and Tunable Stimulation of Astrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces sustainable PLA/graphene oxide bioelectronic interfaces featuring electrodes with tunable conductivity and strong electrocatalytic performance. These platforms were used to implement a new method for tuning astrocyte Ca2+ signaling and for the efficient detection of key biomarkers.
