Effect of Buoy Layout and Sinker Configuration on the Hydrodynamic Response of Drifting Fish Aggregating Devices in Regular Waves

open access: yesFishes
Drifting fish aggregating devices (DFADs) are central to tropical tuna purse-seine fisheries, yet their hydrodynamic performance under realistic seas has not been adequately addressed, particularly for emerging eco-friendly designs.

Generation of regular waves with FPGA based controller in a wave channel

open access: yesBalıkesir Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi
Wave channel systems provide crucial experimental platforms for the development and optimization of wave energy converters. By enabling the safe and repeatable simulation of real ocean conditions, these systems play a key role in understanding wave behavior and reducing design risks. They allow the generation of a specific wave model to investigate the

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

Numerical simulation study of wave dissipation performance of step‐type breakwaters

open access: yesEngineering Reports
To improve the force endurance capacity of plate breakwaters, a step‐type plate breakwater was proposed. The performance of the step‐type breakwater was investigated by numerical simulation method. First, a two‐dimensional numerical regular wave tank was

Microscopic Origin of Temperature‐Dependent Anisotropic Heat Transport in Ultrawide‐Bandgap Rutile GeO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rutile GeO2${\rm GeO}_{2}$ exhibits orientation‐dependent heat transport with temperature‐dependent anisotropy, showing higher cross‐plane thermal conductivity along [001] than along the equivalent in‐plane [100] and [010] directions. Temperature‐dependent TDTR measurements and first‐principles phonon calculations identify the microscopic phonon ...

Neutrophil‐Mimetic MRI Enables Ultra‐Early Detection of Vascular Inflammation After Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed neutrophil‐mimetic MRI probes that detect ultra‐early neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke by targeting E‐selectin. Within seconds of their injection, these microparticles mimic initial leukocyte adhesion to the activated cerebral endothelium.
