Experimental study of Bed Pattern around the Cylindrical Pile under Broken Waves [PDF]
Cylindrical piles are often used in most of coastal and offshore structures such as bridges, wharfs, offshore wind turbine foundations and Oil platforms.

Signature of chaos in gravitational waves from a spinning particle [PDF]
A spinning test particle around a Schwarzschild black hole shows a chaotic behavior, if its spin is larger than a critical value. We discuss whether or not some peculiar signature of chaos appears in the gravitational waves emitted from such a system ...

Experimental Study on Wave Nonlinear Characteristics at a Complex Uneven Fringing Reef
In this study, the variation law of nonlinear characteristic parameters of waves near islands and reefs with different slopes was examined through physical model tests.

CURRENT DEPTH REFRACTION OF REGULAR WAVES
The complete set of equations for the refraction of small surface gravity waves on large-scale currents over a gradually varying sea bed is derived and presented. Wave lengths, direction of propagation and wave heights are all determined along the so-called wave rays as solutions to ordinary, first-order differential equations.

Who's Afraid of Naked Singularities?
To probe naked spacetime singularities with waves rather than with particles we study the well-posedness of initial value problems for test scalar fields with finite energy so that the natural function space of initial data is the Sobolev space.

Charges, Monopoles and Duality Relations [PDF]
A charge-monopole theory is derived from simple and self-evident postulates. Charges and monopoles take an analogous theoretical structure. It is proved that charges interact with free waves emitted from monopoles but not with the corresponding velocity ...

Regularity of rotational travelling water waves [PDF]
Several recent results on the regularity of streamlines beneath a rotational travelling wave, along with the wave profile itself, will be discussed. The survey includes the classical water wave problem in both finite and infinite depth, capillary waves and solitary waves as well.

Gravitational Wave Signals from Chaotic System: A Point Mass with A Disk
We study gravitational waves from a particle moving around a system of a point mass with a disk in Newtonian gravitational theory. A particle motion in this system can be chaotic when the gravitational contribution from a surface density of a disk is ...

Comparison of Nonlinear Wave-Loading Models on Rigid Cylinders in Regular Waves
Monopiles able to support very large offshore wind turbines are slender structures susceptible to nonlinear resonant phenomena. With the aim to better understand and model the wave-loading on these structures in very steep waves where ringing occurs and ...
