Investigation of WaveStar Energy Converter Performance in Caspian Sea Using Regular Wave and Froude-Krylov Force

open access: yesنشریه مهندسی دریا, 2016
Caspian Sea is one of the most low-lying areas of the region which is located between latitudes 36.34 and 47.13 degrees north. Its considerable vast area and depth have provided an opportunity to gain renewable energy by different methods.

Optimal regular reflection of shock and blast waves

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The regular reflection of an oblique steady shock in supersonic gas flow is considered. The static pressure extremum conditions after the point of reflection of the shock with fixed strength depending on oncoming flow Mach number are determined ...

Numerical evolution of Brill waves

open access: yes, 2000
We report a numerical evolution of axisymmetric Brill waves. The numerical algorithm has new features, including (i) a method for keeping the metric regular on the axis and (ii) the use of coordinates that bring spatial infinity to the edge of the ...

Copper Nanocrystallization in Anodic Oxide Films of Ti–Cu‐Based Bulk Metallic Glass and Its Effect on the Corrosion Resistance and Cytocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Viktoriia Shtefan, Thorgund Nemec, Ute Hempel, Annett Gebert and coworkers demonstrate that anodic treatment of Ti–Cu‐based metallic glass in a nontoxic pyrophosphate electrolyte forms a protective bilayered Ti/Zr‐oxide film enriched with Cu nanocrystals.

Melvin solution with a dilaton potential

open access: yes, 2003
We find new Melvin-like solutions in Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton gravity with a Liouville-type dilaton potential. The properties of the corresponding solution in Freedman-Schwarz gauged supergravity model are extensively studied.

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Numerical Study of the Hydrodynamic Response of Biodegradable Drifting Fish Aggregating Devices in Regular Waves

open access: yesFishes
Fish-aggregating devices play a significant role in tuna purse fisheries. The severe marine environment and the large number of non-biodegradable fish-aggregating devices impact structural safety and cause marine litter.

Supersymmetric Strings and Waves in D=3, N=2 Matter Coupled Gauged Supergravities

open access: yes, 2004
We construct new 1/2 supersymmetric solutions in D=3, N=2, matter coupled, U(1) gauged supergravities and study some of their properties. In the most general case they represent a string superposed with gravitational and Chern-Simons electromagnetic ...

Dual‐Mode Film Based on Highly Scattering Nanofibers and Upcycled Chips‐Bags for Year‐Round Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent radiative cooling devices, adaptable to various weather conditions, have the potential for year‐round energy savings. This study introduces a sustainable dual‐mode film made from polycaprolactone nanofibers and upcycled chip bags for effective thermal management.

Avoided intersections of nodal lines

open access: yes, 2002
We consider real eigen-functions of the Schr\"odinger operator in 2-d. The nodal lines of separable systems form a regular grid, and the number of nodal crossings equals the number of nodal domains.
