Points in general relativistic shock wave interaction are “regularity singularities” where spacetime is not locally flat

open access: yes, 2011
We show that the regularity of the gravitational metric tensor in spher- ically symmetric spacetimes cannot be lifted from C0,1 to C1,1 within the class of C1,1 coordinate transformations in a neighborhood of a point of shock wave inter- action in ...

Quartic Regularity [PDF]

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mathematics
Abstract In this paper, we propose new linearly convergent second-order methods for minimizing convex quartic polynomials. This framework is applied for designing optimization schemes, which can solve general convex problems satisfying a new condition of quartic regularity.

Long‐Term Efficacy of Immunotherapy in Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy—A 10‐Year Follow Up Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy (AAG) is a rare but potentially treatable cause of severe autonomic failure. Evidence guiding long‐term immunotherapy, treatment sequencing, and residual autonomic impairment is limited. We evaluated long‐term treatment response, residual autonomic dysfunction, and relapse patterns in patients with

Efficacy of Inebilizumab in N‐MOmentum Trial Participants With or Without Prior Immunosuppressants

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This post hoc analysis examined the impact of prior immunosuppressants on the long‐term efficacy and safety of inebilizumab, a cluster of differentiation 19+ B‐cell–depleting monoclonal antibody, in participants with aquaporin‐4–seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder from the N‐MOmentum trial (NTC02200770).

Regularity of large solutions for the compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2011
In this paper, we consider the initial-boundary value problem of one-dimensional compressible magnetohydrodynamics flows. The existence and continuous dependence of global solutions in H 1 have been established in Chen and Wang (Z Angew Math Phys 54, 608-

On the continuity of solutions to advection-diffusion equations with slightly super-critical divergence-free drifts

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2014
We address the regularity of solutions to elliptic and parabolic equations of the form -Δu+b·∇u=0${- \Delta u+b\cdot \nabla u=0}$ and ut-Δu+b·∇u=0${u_t- \Delta u+b\cdot \nabla u=0}$ with divergence-free drifts b.

Traces, extensions, co-normal derivatives and solution regularity of elliptic systems with smooth and non-smooth coefficients

open access: yes, 2009
For functions from a Sobolev space, definitions of non-unique generalised and unique canonical co-normal derivative are considered, which are related to possible extensions of a partial differential operator and its right hand side from the domain ...

Temporal Trends and Short‐ and Long‐Term Mortality of People With Acute Myocardial Infarction and Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Nationwide Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We investigated whether a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affects the quality of inpatient acute myocardial infarction (AMI) care and long‐term mortality post‐AMI. Methods We analyzed data from 784,091 adults, 6,047 with a diagnosis of RA, from England and Wales hospitalized with AMI between 2005 and 2019 from the Myocardial Ischaemia ...

L p regularity of averages over curves and bounds for associated maximal operators

open access: yes, 2008
We prove that for a finite type curve in R 3 the maximal operator generated by dilations is bounded on L for sufficiently large p. We also show the endpoint L regularity result for the averaging operators for large p.

New regularity coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
We give two new characterizations of the notion of Lyapunov regularity in terms of the lower and upper exponential growth rates of the singular values. These characterizations motivate the introduction of new regularity coefficients.
