Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

Variational inequality formulation of the asymmetric eigenvalue problem and its solution by means of gap functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
: In this paper, the solution of the asymmetric eigenvalue complementarity problem (EiCP) is investigated by means of a variational inequality formulation.

CQ-free optimality conditions and strong dual formulations for a special conic optimization problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we consider a special class of conic optimization problems, consisting of set-semidefinite (orK-semidefinite) programming problems, where the setKis a polyhedral convex cone.

Optimal rates for spectral algorithms with least-squares regression over Hilbert spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we study regression problems over a separable Hilbert space with the square loss, covering non-parametric regression over a reproducing kernel Hilbert space.

Divergent brain solute clearance in rat models of cerebral amyloid angiopathy and Alzheimer’s disease

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Brain waste clearance from the interstitial fluid environment is challenging to measure, which has contributed to controversy regarding the significance of glymphatic transport impairment for neurodegenerative processes.

Action functionals that attain regular minima in presence of energy gaps

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems, 2007
We present three simple regular one-dimensional variational problems that present the Lavrentiev gap phenomenon, i.e., inf$\{\int_a^b L(t,x,\dot x): x\in W_0^{1,1}(a,b)\} $< inf$\{\int_a^bL(t,x,\dot x): x\in W_0^{1,\infty}(a,b)\}$ (where $ W_0^{1,p}(a,b)$ denote the usual Sobolev spaces with zero boundary conditions), in ...

Uncovering G Protein‐Coupled Receptors: Novel Targets and Biomarkers for Predicting Glioma Prognosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Low‐grade gliomas (LGG) exhibit significant heterogeneity and recurrence risk. G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCR) contribute to glioma malignant progression, but their prognostic value remains unclear. This work attempts to formulate a GPCR‐based outcome‐predicting model for LGG. Methods Based on TCGA LGG data, the enrichment scores

A Two‐Stage Questionnaire and Actigraphy Screening for iRBD in a Multicenter Retrospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Isolated rapid‐eye‐movement sleep behavior disorder is a prodromal marker of synucleinopathies. However, most cases remain undiagnosed due to the insufficient predictive value of questionnaires and limited access to confirmatory video‐polysomnography. We assessed a two‐stage screening strategy combining a brief questionnaire on rapid‐

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.
