ABSTRACT Climate change represents the biggest current challenge for us and for future generations. Its impact on agriculture is undeniable, considering the food security goal. Thus, the cropland footprint has been distinguished as a comprehensive index for assessing the impact of environmental changes in agricultural areas determined by the increased ...

Microbiome‐mediated plant‐soil feedbacks as a tool for resilient agriculture
Translating plant‐soil feedbacks (PSFs) into reliable agricultural management requires shifting from input‐dependent practices toward endogenous, process‐driven crop resilience. To bridge this gap, we propose a predictive framework centered on three strategic interventions: engineering the crop holobiont, diversifying the soil habitat, and deploying ...

Effect of Regulated Deficit Irrigation and Crop Load on the Antioxidant Compounds of Peaches
The use of regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) strategies is becoming a common practice in areas with low water availability. Little information is available about the effects of RDI on the antioxidant content of fruits. In this study, the influence of RDI on the content of vitamin C, phenolic compounds and carotenoids was investigated.

ABSTRACT Accurate monitoring of crop water use is critical for precision irrigation, yet conventional lysimeter systems remain too costly and complex for widespread adoption. This study presents the development and field validation of a low‐cost, information and communication technology (ICT)‐enabled weighing lysimeter system that integrates load cells,

ABSTRACT Climate change is making water availability more uncertain, with growing consequences for the productivity and long‐term sustainability of tropical and subtropical fruit orchards. Mangifera indica L. and Persea americana Mill. both require large amounts of water to sustain growth and productivity.

Regulated deficit irrigation during the kernel-filling period and optimal irrigation rates in almond
The use of Regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) in almond, applied during the kernel-filling phase, was evaluated over four consecutive years. To determine the reference optimal irrigation rate, three treatments were applied: T-100, which was irrigated by replacing crop evapotranspiration; T-130, which was irrigated by applying 30% more water than in T ...
