Effect of deficit irrigation with saline water on the moisture and salt regime of the soil
Karcag region, our study area, is characterized by the widespread horticultural activities in hobby gardens all around the town using saline water, which caused secondary salinization for a long time.

Compound dry‐hot events (CDHEs) exerted severer damage on vegetation productivity for temperate shrublands, savannas and grasslands in drylands. Land‐atmosphere coupling was associated with severer negative impacts of CDHEs through soil moisture–temperature feedback, especially for dry‐event‐leading CDHEs.

Soil Silicon Application Alleviates Drought Stress in Sugar Beet (Beta vulgaris L.)
ABSTRACT Background: The increasing frequency and intensity of drought events have led to yield and quality losses in sugar beet production in temperate regions in Central Europe. Under arid conditions, silicon (Si) application reduced beet yield losses under drought. Similar data for temperate climates are missing.
