Incidence and Predictors of Successful Lead Extraction With Short Active Mechanical Extraction Sheaths Only

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 6, Page 1241-1248, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Transvenous lead extraction (TLE) is increasingly performed for malfunction or infection of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIED). Active mechanical rotational sheaths facilitate extraction and are available in short and long sizes, but it is unclear how many patients short active mechanical extraction sheaths ...

Assessment of anatomical outcomes in the upper urinary tract following flexible ureteroscopy with flexible and navigable suction ureteral access sheath: 1‐year results from a multicentre study

open access: yesBJUI Compass, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Introduction Flexible and navigable suction access sheath (FANS) with flexible ureterorenoscopy (FURS) has demonstrated favourable 30‐day and 3‐month outcomes for renal stones in normal anatomy. We aimed to investigate the long‐term 1‐year safety and efficacy of FANS for renal and ureteric stones in normal or anomalous anatomy.

Autogenous Lateral Saphenous Vein and Fascia Lata Grafts Used in the Repair of Ureteral Defects in Dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
Autologous grafts using lateral saphenous vein demonstrated effective ureteral reconstruction in canine cadavers, with shorter procedural times and fewer complications than fascia lata grafts. Leakage and handling issues limited the performance of fascia lata prostheses.

Reimplantation of Teeth in the Baboon

open access: yesThe Journal of the American Dental Association, 1970
Controversy has existed about the causes for resorption of reimplanted teeth. In this study of 22 teeth reimplanted in baboons, distal root resorption was found to be significant after 12 months. The cause of resorption was thought to be clastic cells that were probably derived from mesenchymal cells in the periodontal membrane.
