Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reinforced Lattices

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1994
SUMMARY Reinforcement is here meant the addition of plots of standard treatments to the blocks of a non-orthogonal design to improve it. The purpose could be either to aid a comparison of the existing treatments or to facilitate their comparison with the standards.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of an Eccentrically Loaded Strip Footing on Reinforced Sand Slope

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Structural Engineering, 2018
An experimental program and numerical computations were performed to investigate the slope effect on the bearing capacity of an eccentrically loaded strip footing. Two cases were considered: unreinforced sand slope and reinforced slope by geogrid. Tests

Reinforced concrete reinforcement

open access: yes, 2020
The article deals with the problems of reinforcement of reinforced concrete structures with the help of plastic reinforcement. The use of reinforcement in reinforced concrete has many methods, and calculation of their strength depends on the expected level of stress on the structure. Proceeding from the fact that the armature is flexible or rigid steel
