Investigation of Strengthening Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Connection Wrapped with Fiber-reinforced Polymer

open access: yesJournal of Studies in Science and Engineering, 2022
In reinforced concrete structures, the beam-column connection area has a considerable influence on the behavior of the structure. The use of fiber-reinforced polymer FRP to strengthen the connections in the Reinforced structure can be one of the ...

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Flexural analysis of concrete beams longitudinally reinforced with GFRP bars using discrete element model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper presents experimental and analytical study related to the flexural behavior of concrete beams longitudinally reinforced with GFRP bars. The specimens consist of simply supported reinforced concrete beams with two point load.

Reinforced concrete beams with lightweight concrete infill

open access: yesScientific Research and Essays, 2012
In structural design, an ideal situation in material saving is to reduce the weight of the structure without having to compromise on its strength and serviceability. A new lightweight sandwich reinforced concrete section has been developed with a novel use of lightweight concrete as infill material. The section, namely LSRC section, is suitable for use

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Test and Analysis of Concrete Beams Reinforced by Polyurethane Concrete–Prestressed Steel Wires (PUC–PSWs)

open access: yesBuildings
In order to solve the problems of low tensile strength of composite mortar prone to cracking when reinforced concrete beams are strengthened by traditional methods, this paper proposes a new polyurethane concrete–prestressing wire (PUC–PSW) reinforcement

Waste Tire Application in Concrete Structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The waste tire is produced more than 10 million tons every year in the world. This problem needs serious treatment to eliminate the waste tires. This work is aimed to recycle the waste tire in concrete as a reinforcement.

Tough, Ductile, and Strong Hard‐Soft Cementitious Composite Enabled by Multi‐Material Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including
