2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Behaviour of Concrete Structural Members Subjected to Air Blast Loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Numerical analysis is a suitable tool in the design of complex reinforced concrete structures under extreme impulsive loadings such as impacts or explosions at close range. Such events may be the result of terrorist attacks.

Molecular Templating Enables Precise CeNiC2/Ni Heterostructures for Efficient Alkaline Hydrogen Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A series of Bi‐TMCs‐based heterostructures (CeNiC2/Ni‐x%) have been precisely constructed through a “molecular‐template”‐assisted strategy, which exhibits remarkable alkaline HOR performance derived from the strong synergy between Ni and CeNiC2 components.

Development an Artificial Neural Network Model for Estimating Cost of R/C Building by Using Life-Cycle Cost Function: Case Study of Mexico City

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2022
This paper addresses the importance of engineering asset management decisions and control. For this purpose, a Life-Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis is conducted for typical reinforced concrete (R/C) buildings located in Mexico City. The objective of this study

An efficient methodology to estimate probabilistic seismic damage curves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) is a powerful methodology that can be easily extended for calculating probabilistic seismic damage curves. These curves are metadata to assess the seismic risk of structures.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Seismic design of reinforced concrete frames for minimum embodied CO2 emissions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Optimum structural design of reinforced concrete (RC) frames has been the focus of extensive research. Typically, previous studies set economic cost as the main design objective despite the fact that RC structures are major contributors of CO2 emissions.
