Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Tension stiffening effects in reinforced concrete members [PDF]
This thesis is in two parts which are related by the common theme of tension stiffening. Part I develops the concept of a stress-strain envelope to model the behaviour of the concrete in tension below the neutral axis of a reinforced concrete beam.

Connections in GFRP reinforced precast concrete frames
Glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) is an effective alternative reinforcing solution to tackle problems associated with steel corrosion in reinforced concrete structures located in harsh environments. However, there are multiple construction challenges

Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...

Cyclic behavior of non-seismically designed interior reinforced concrete beam-column connections [PDF]
This paper presents a test of non-seismically detailed reinforced concrete beam-column connections under reversedcyclic load. The tested specimens represented those of the actual mid-rise reinforced concrete frame buildings, designedaccording to the non ...

Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy in Bionanotechnology: Current Advances and Future Perspectives
Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) enables the nanoscale mapping of electrostatic surface potentials. While widely applied in materials science, its use in biological systems remains emerging. This review presents recent advances in KPFM applied to biological samples and provides a critical perspective on current limitations and future directions for
