Construction Control of Reinforced Concrete Arch Bridges
Journal of Bridge Engineering, 2003Reinforced concrete arch bridges are ideal to span over river valleys or deep ravines. However, the construction of the arch rib is very often the most crucial aspect that may influence the feasibility of the bridge. Casting concrete in situ on formwork and falsework supported directly on the valley is often out of the question.

Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Grid for Reinforced Concrete Construction
Journal of Composite Materials, 1994The objective of this paper was to evaluate the suitability of Fiber-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) grids for use as a structural reinforcement in slab-type concrete structures. The behavior of concrete beams reinforced with FRP grids was experimentally investigated.

Carbon reinforced concrete in construction practice
IABSE Reports, 2018<p>One of the world's largest R & D projects within the construction industry focuses on carbon reinforced concrete technology. Civil engineering is an old-fashioned industry with very slow innovation strength. Despite this difficulty, a new method of construction, planning and industrial production shall be established to solve most ...

NON-METALLIC REINFORCEMENTS FOR CONCRETE CONSTRUCTIONS
2002Non-metallic reinforcements are becoming valuable alternatives for the classical concrete reinforcements. This evolution started in the late eighties of last century. Composite materials of different type were introduced to overcome the inherent disadvantages of concrete: strength, durability, corrosion of steel rods, creep and shrinkage, flexibility ...

Alternative Reinforcements for Digital Concrete Construction
2018Applications of structural concrete require use of reinforcement in one form or another. The known reinforcement concepts in additive concrete construction typically rely on conventional reinforcement approaches, which provide a solid basis for structural design, since existing guidelines and codes can be used.
