Guided Toward Equity: Communities of Practice and Organizational Change in Community Colleges

open access: yesNew Directions for Community Colleges, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although community colleges advance equity by providing opportunities for marginalized students to pursue higher education, barriers to earning credentials remain, particularly for students of color. Higher education stakeholders are investing in “equity work” as organizations take responsibility for ensuring equitable outcomes.

Effect of stiffeners in lateral stiffness of masonry infill reinforced concrete (RC) frames

open access: yesJournal of Science and Engineering, 2015
Infilled frames are reinforced concrete frames with masonry infill. The provision of masonry walls as infill increases the lateral stiffness of frame. Unreinforced masonry infill effects the strength and stiffness of frame but being ignored for a long time.

The Governance Gap: Democratizing Drug Development Through Decision Architecture

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Drug development is most exposed to governance failure where it can least afford it, in global health. The field has more predictive power than at any point in its history and roughly the same failure rate it had a decade ago. We argue that this paradox persists because the field has invested heavily in prediction science while neglecting decision ...

Deformation and Failure of a Monolithic Reinforced Concrete Frame under Accidental Actions

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
The results of experimental and theoretical studies of deformation and failure of monolithic reinforced concrete (RC) frames under accidental action caused by the sudden removal of one of the columns are suggested.

Greening the Workplace: Unlocking Green Performance Through Human Resource Management and Employee Behaviour

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explores the role of green human resource management (GHRM) and employees' green behaviour (GB) in enhancing firms' green performance. Specifically, it investigates how GHRM practices contribute to improving the firm's overall environmental performance by fostering employees' GB.

Degradation of the first frequency of an RC frame with damage levels

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2023
Damage in RC structures causes the degradation of stiffness and frequency parameters. In this study, the relationship between the two coefficients and damage severities is numerically investigated considering a three-dimensional (3D) reinforced concrete

Numerical Modelling and Simulation of the In-Plane Response of a Three-Storey Masonry-Infilled RC Frame Retrofitted with TRM

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
A numerical study was conducted to investigate the in-plane behavior of a masonry-infilled reinforced concrete (RC) frame retrofitted with textile-reinforced mortar (TRM).

Impact of Emission Reduction Targets on Corporate Greenwashing: International Empirical Evidence

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the influence of emission reduction target characteristics on corporate greenwashing propensity. Through the analysis of 4938 international observations via probit regression, we examine four key dimensions: science‐based validation, target compliance, timeframe, and organizational coverage.

Seismic Response of Existing Masonry‐Infilled RC Frame Structures Retrofitted with Steel Exoskeletons

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Considering the needs for reducing carbon emissions and except for extreme cases of very degraded existing structures, research on technologies allowing continued use or upgrading of older buildings has become a priority topic. Generally, research on upgrading of reinforced concrete frame structures certainly has a prominent role, because of ...
