Analysis of behaviour of contact between the profiled steel sheeting and the concrete
In designing composite structures it is necessary to verify the following three sections: normal, diagonal and horizontal. The behaviour of composite steelâ€concrete structures with external profiled reinforcement is directly dependent on the ...

Is Time Travel Possible? Accidental Signs as Sociolinguistic “Wormholes”
ABSTRACT Sociolinguistics primarily focuses on deliberately staged public signs, while relatively less attention has been given to ephemeral and non‐deliberate signs in urban environments. This study investigates “ accidental signs,” which are hidden historical texts suddenly exposed by unpredictable events.

SUMMARY An experimental analysis has been carried out on the long-term behaviour of composite specimens and walls made with historical brickwork. The test pieces were subjected both to static and to cyclic loading tests (accelerate static creep) and to freezing-thawing thermo-hygrometric tests in order to study the durability of different strengthening

Influence of Site Amplification Approaches in PSRA: Insights From Five Different Cities
Regional and national seismic hazard models used in probabilistic seismic risk analysis often rely on generalized proxy‐based site terms to account for ground shaking amplification. This can result in coarse representations of site response, which can introduce bias or additional uncertainty in the associated risk results.

The 2025 Kamchatka Earthquake and Tsunami: Cascading Impacts and Risks to Japan
ABSTRACT On July 29th, 2025, a large earthquake (Mw 8.8) occurred near the Kamchatka Peninsula. This event caused a tsunami that reached Japan's Pacific coast, even though the source was far away. In this study, we analyze the characteristics of earthquakes and tsunamis and discuss how they relate to the recurrence possibility and risk in Japan.

ABSTRACT Self‐centering rocking structures outperform conventional ones since they show zero post‐earthquake damage and excellent recentering; however, their applications remain limited due to concerns that rocking is extremely sensitive and nonrepeatable. This paper investigates the repeatability and parasitic out‐of‐plane motion of controlled rocking

Wind Turbine Blade Crack Detection and Assessment in Images Using Machine Learning
ABSTRACT As the wind energy industry matures, inspection of wind turbine blades (WTBs) is shifting from a manual process involving rope access and grading of damage, towards unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photography and artificial intelligence‐aided processing of data.
