An alternative formalism for modeling spin

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
We present an alternative formalism for modeling spin. The ontological elements of this formalism are base-2 sequences of length n. The machinery necessary to model physics is then developed by considering correlations between base-2 sequences.

Through the big bang: Continuing Einstein's equations beyond a cosmological singularity

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
All measurements are comparisons. The only physically accessible degrees of freedom (DOFs) are dimensionless ratios. The objective description of the universe as a whole thus predicts only how these ratios change collectively as one of them is changed ...

Force Concept Inventory: More than just conceptual understanding

open access: yesPhysical Review Physics Education Research, 2020
The Force Concept Inventory (FCI) can serve as a summative assessment of students’ conceptual knowledge at the end of introductory physics, but previous work has suggested that the knowledge measured by this instrument is not a unitary construct. In this

Material Sight: A Sensorium for Fundamental Physics

open access: yesArtnodes, 2020
Often our attempts to connect to the spatial and temporal scales of fundamental physics - from the subatomic to the multiverse - provoke a form of perceptual vertigo, especially for non-scientists. When we approach ideas of paralysing abstraction through

Time and Life in the Relational Universe: Prolegomena to an Integral Paradigm of Natural Philosophy

open access: yesPhilosophies, 2018
Relational ideas for our description of the natural world can be traced to the concept of Anaxagoras on the multiplicity of basic particles, later called “homoiomeroi” by Aristotle, that constitute the Universe and have the same nature as the

Cognitive Structures of Space-Time

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2020
In physics, the analysis of the space representing states of physical systems often takes the form of a layer-cake of increasingly rich structure. In this paper, we propose an analogous hierarchy in the cognition of spacetime.

Filozoficzny problem czasu i przestrzeni u Leibniza

open access: yesFilozofia Publiczna i Edukacja Demokratyczna, 2012
The problem of proper understanding of the space and time is one of the most enduring issues in the history of Western metaphysics. The article shows how Gottfried W.

Towards Relational Foundations for Spacetime Quantum Physics

open access: yesUniverse
Rovelli’s relational interpretation of quantum mechanics tells us that the description of a system in the formalism of quantum mechanics is not an absolute but is relative to the observer itself.

Moderating Effects of Gender on the Relationship between Senior School Physics Students’ STEM Self-efficacy and Science Identity [PDF]

open access: yesRevista de Știinţe Educaţiei
The developmental growth of any society depends greatly on the progression and innovations made by students’ in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The current study determines the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between
