An analysis of relational quantum mechanics

open access: yes, 2023
In this thesis, I argue that no current version of Relational Quantum Mechanics (RQM) both meets its own goals and solves the problem of measurement, and the prospects that any such interpretation could be articulated are not promising. I offer a clear illustration of the core framework of RQM and I note that all versions of RQM share an ontology of ...

Relations between multiresolution analysis and quantum mechanics

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2005
We discuss a procedure to construct multiresolution analyses (MRA) of L2(R) starting from a given seed function h(s) which should satisfy some conditions. Our method, originally related to the quantum mechanical Hamiltonian of the fractional quantum Hall effect, is shown to be model independent.

Relational Quantum Mechanics, quantum relativism, and the iteration of relativity

open access: yesStudies in History and Philosophy of Science
The idea that the dynamical properties of quantum systems are invariably relative to other systems has recently regained currency. Using Relational Quantum Mechanics (RQM) for a case study, this paper calls attention to a question that has been underappreciated in the debate about quantum relativism: the question of whether relativity iterates.

Relational quantum mechanics: Rovelli's world

open access: yes, 2010
Carlo Rovelli's inspiring Relational Quantum Mechanics serves several aims at once: it provides a new vision of what the world of quantum mechanics is like, and it offers a program to derive the theory's formalism from a set of simple postulates pertaining to information processing.
