Why Is the Mechanism Underlying the Chiral‐Induced Selectivity Effect Still Challenging?
The chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect is observed in many experimental configurations and for different materials. However, there are theoretical challenges in attempting to explain those results. A qualitative framework for explaining all the results is presented.

Catalyst coordination acts as a loaded dice biasing reaction selectivity. Single‐atom site catalysts lock intermediates in exposed configurations, enabling continued hydrogenation and favoring oxygen‐retaining products. In contrast, extended metal surfaces fully coordinate and shield reactive centers, promoting deoxygenation pathways. This work reveals

Beyond Gombrich: the recrudescence of visual semiotics [PDF]
Gombrich’s semiological project draws its theoretical and methodical coherence from the direction toward sematology taken by Karl Bühler and his school (Popper and Lorenz).

Large size (∼100 µm) monolayer MoS2 grown by LPI‐CVD on n‐GaN exhibit a high n‐type doping, very low strain, and a type‐I band alignment at MoS2/GaN interface. Photocurrent measurements under illumination with photon energies from ∼2 to ∼5 eV show superior electro‐optical performances of these MoS2/n‐GaN heterojunctions as compared to Ni/n‐GaN devices ...

Pattern Formation in Non‐Equilibrium Architected Materials
This article demonstrates an artificial mechanical system ‐ a robotic metamaterial ‐ as an accessible and versatile platform within which to explore and prescribe the reaction‐diffusion driven pattern formation hitherto associated with comparatively less accessible and versatile non‐equilibrium biological and chemical systems.

Although everyone might easily agree that teaching is the most important role among those that can be assigned to schools, or so it seems, at least, from the point of view of educators that is, yet there are some elements, to which teachers refer when ...
